A Day Inside

October 8, 2009

Typhoon Number 18 [Melor] made landfall this morning and should arrive in Sendai sometime this afternoon, so school was canceled. It's only moving around 50 mph so today will be spent indoors.

I guess I'll catchup on some reading and try to study some. It also seems like it will be a movie day.

I've already had some of my stuff outside fly around. Sorry neighbors!

Sunny and warm now in Tokyo, just a little breezy. Lots of trains were canceled in Tokyo this morning and my son's school was closed (at least he is happy).

My oldest daughter's high school was closed today.
But my other daughters' junior high was open...because the worst of the storm hit Tokyo while we were sleeping.

The only reason my oldest's HS was closed and not the JHS is because most HS students take a train to school...but JHS kids live within walking distance of the school.
And by school time, the typhoon had mostly passed Tokyo already.
